Body Tattoo Care

Wear loose fitting clothing that does not rub against your fresh tattoo.
Avoid sun exposure for the first 3 weeks of healing. Apply SPF to your tattoo after your 3 weeks of healing when exposed to sun.
DO NOT use petroleum based products such as Neosporin or A&D.
DO NOT soak your tattoo for the first 3 weeks.
DO NOT do any strenuous exercise that results in sweating or stretching of the freshly tattooed area for at least 48 hours.
DO NOT pick any scabs or scratch your tattoo while it is healing.
DO NOT shave over your tattoo while it is healing.
DO NOT use hot tubs, pools, saunas or go into the ocean while your tattoo is healing.

Healing with Antibacterial soap and Aquaphor:
Keep your plastic wrap on over night and remove in the morning.
When handling your fresh tattoo always make sure your hands are clean.
The next morning wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap and apply a very thin amount of ointment.
I recommend washing 3 times a day for 7days; morning, mid day and evening before bed.
You will need to wash with warm (not hot and not cold) water and antibacterial soap each time.
For the first 4 days after washing pat your cleaned tattoo with a clean paper towel and apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor. Pat any excess Aquaphor with a clean paper towel. You do not want a thick layer of Aquaphor this can clog your tattoo and not allow it to properly breathe resulting in excess scabbing and bad healed results.
For the remaining 3 days after washing or when feeling dry apply a thin layer of fragrance free lotion.
After the first 7days apply fragrance free lotion to your tattoo for the next 3 weeks when ever your tattoo feels or appears dry.

Healing with Saniderm:
When handling your fresh tattoo always make sure your hands are clean.
7 days is recommended for maximum healing results.
You will get an ink sack which looks like a bubble of ink under the plastic, this is normal and great for the tattoo. The fluid will keep your tattoo hydrated over the next few days and reabsorb back into the skin when it is ready.
As long as this bubble stays confined in the plastic and does not leak out
on to uncovered skin it can stay covered.
If your ink sack leaks out on to your uncovered skin then you will need to remove the Saniderm as soon as possible because that means bacteria can get in. Remove your saniderm, wash with antibacterial soap, and reapply a fresh Saniderm or Tegaderm which you can find at CVS, Target, Walgreens, etc. You also have the option to leave it off and follow the antibacterial and Aquaphor instructions.
When the Saniderm is ready to be removed it is best to remove in a warm (not hot) shower, wash your new tattoo with antibacterial, and apply a thin layer of Aquaphor
After 7 days once the Saniderm is removed and the tattoo is cleaned, apply a thin layer of fragrance free lotion whenever your tattoo feels or appears dry.

EYEBROW PRE CARE

MICROPIGMENTATION IS NOT FOR CLIENTS WHO ARE:

PRE-APPOINTMENT

  • Stop using any skin thinners (Retinol, vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation) on the area 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Any waxing or brow shaping should be done at least 2 days before.

  • If you tint your brows, tint them at least one week prior to the procedure.

  • Cosmetic Botox or fillers should be done 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after.

  • DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, etc.) (unless prescribed by a doctor) 48 hours before your procedure, this will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results.

  • You may come in with how you normally draw in your brows so I can see what you are used to. This is especially important for clients who desire a specific brow shape. If you are open to suggestions, I am happy to help design a custom brow to personally suit you.

  • You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.

  • We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow area.

  • EYEBROW POST CARE

THINGS NOT TO DO

  • DO NOT expose your tattoo to the sun during the healing process. UV Rays can alter the pigment of your tattoo. After the first 10 days of healing SPF is important for the longevity your micropigmentation.

  • DO NOT submerge the tattoo in saltwater for at least 2 weeks after your procedure. Salt water will cause the healing pigment to push out of the skin.

  • DO NOT sweat excessively for 10 days. Sweat contains salt and can prematurely fade your brow tattoo. Moderate exercise is fine.

  • DO NOT run direct water on your brow tattoo for the first few days of healing.

  • DO NOT use Vaseline on your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use any makeup, creams, exfoliants on the brows for 10 days.

  • DO NOT go into sauna’s, pools, and steam rooms.

  • DO NOT get massages, facials, or skin treatments during the healing process.

  • DO NOT go tanning for the first 10 days of healing. After 10 days cover your brow tattoo when you tan. UV rays can alter the color of your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use exfoliants, retinol, acids, or AHA’s on the brow area. It will fade your tattoo prematurely.

  • DO NOT use laser light therapy on your brow tattoo. This can darken, lighten, and distort the pigment.

  • DO NOT work out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores.

After care is crucial. It is very important to follow these instructions for the full 10 day healing period to ensure proper healing and color retention. Results will vary for all individuals, and we cannot guarantee your results.

  • Use a gentle cleanser (lather it up in your hands) and wash your brows morning and night every day for 7-10 days or until the flaking has stopped.

  • Make sure you blot them completely dry with a clean towel after washing. DO NOT allow water to collect or sit in the brow area.

  • Apply the ointment provided to your brows morning and night. A very small amount (size of a piece of rice) to each brow with clean fingers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This can be a 2 step process. It takes time. BE PATIENT during your 10 day healing process your brows will change and appear different from day to day.

  • Immediately after your procedure your brows will appear darker and more defined this will last up to 2 weeks. Your brow tattoo can appear more solid, your hair strokes may seem to disappear, and they may look wet and painted on.

  • Around days 4-5 you will experience flaking and your brows may look dry. DO NOT PICK your brows!! Let any flakes fall off naturally. If flakes get picked off prematurely brows may become patchy. Picking can also lead to scarring.

  • Your brow tattoo will take up to 4 weeks to fully heal. When the flaking comes off the hair strokes may seem faint this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair strokes will become clearer. Color will continue to change on a daily basis until all healing is complete at the 4 week mark.

  • You may experience itchiness in the brows after the 10 days for up to 2 months due to the healing process of the dermal layer.

  • Not everyone’s hair stroke brows can heal clean and crisp. Hair strokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal crisper and more defined. Also, those who bleed more may need more touchups, as the blood pushes pigment out while we tattoo.

  • Use SPF of at least 30 to protect your brows. Sun exposure will cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo.

  • As the tattoo fades the strokes will get fainter and less defined.

  • Hair stroke brows typically last 1-3 years.

TOUCH UPS

Allow your brows a MINIMUM of 4 weeks to heal before booking a touch up. This gives you time to decide if you need a touch up appointment (not everyone will need a touch up). It takes a full 4 weeks for the color to settle. It is your responsibility to book your touch up appointments. If your tattoo becomes too faded additional charges may apply.

  • Touch ups are typically done within the first 3 months after the initial appointment.

  • This can be a 2 (and sometimes even 3) step process.

  • The first session is used to build shape and gain symmetry.

  • The second session is used to perfect the brows and add density.

  • This is a process, and some clients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired result.

  • Do not expect perfect results after the first session.

  • Darker skin and oily skin clients may need more touch ups to achieve a bolder brow.

  • Some client’s skin may have a harder time retaining pigment and may require additional sessions.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS. Everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle, the initial 10 day care, and long term care of your brow tattoo.

 Before your Appointment:

Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. If they are dry, we will need to reschedule, and you will forfeit your deposit. You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. You can use a lip scrub or create your own using honey and brown sugar. For the week leading up to the appointment you must moisturize your lips as much as possible (I recommend using Aquaphor).

 *IMPORTANT*

Cold sores are a risk of lip blush tattoo.  If you have had a cold sore in the past- we advise you to go to the doctor for an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure to help avoid an outbreak.  Even if you have not had a cold sore before I recommend all my clients take L-lysine 2 weeks before the appointment and 2 weeks following the appointment to reduce the risk.

LIP BLUSH AFTER CARE

THINGS NOT TO DO

  • DO NOT submerge the tattoo in saltwater for at least 2 weeks after your procedure. Salt water will cause the healing pigment to push out of the skin.

  • DO NOT expose your tattoo to the sun during the healing process. UV Rays can alter the pigment of your tattoo. After the first 10 days of healing SPF is important for the longevity your micropigmentation.

  • DO NOT sweat excessively for 10 days. Sweat contains salt and can prematurely fade your tattoo. Moderate exercise is fine.

  • DO NOT run direct water on your lips for the first few days of healing.

  • DO NOT use Vaseline on your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use any makeup or exfoliants or 10 days.

  • DO NOT go into sauna’s, pools, and steam rooms.

  • DO NOT get massages, facials, or skin treatments during the healing process.

  • DO NOT go tanning for the first 10 days of healing. After 10 days cover your tattoo when you tan. UV rays can alter the color of your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use exfoliants, retinol, acids, or AHA’s on the area. It will fade your tattoo prematurely.

  • DO NOT use laser light therapy on your tattoo. This can darken, lighten, and distort the pigment.

  • DO NOT pick at the tattoo site at any time during healing.

After your Appointment:

Lips will feel swollen and very dry after your treatment. Apply ointment on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color. During the day if lips feel dry, apply a liberal amount of ointment. Just tap on skin and do not rub in.

Always use a clean Q-tip, do not use fingers to apply ointment to the lips. Using a clean Q-tip will reduce the risk of infection.

During the healing process avoid oily, salty, acidic foods, and alcohol. After lips are no longer tender to the touch, they may become flaky. This is normal and expected. Please do not pick or scratch at them. This may significantly reduce the amount of pigment absorption. Redness, swelling, tenderness, and dryness are all common post treatment side effects. Avoid the sun and tanning beds pre and post procedure. Be sure to use a SPF once lips are healed. Do not use any glycolic, hydroxy or fruit acid products on the lips. Avoid direct water pressure, pools, and other bodies of water until healed. You can resume wearing lipstick once lips are healed.

Lips may require a touch-up session to reach desired results. Some clients will yield very strong healed lip color, while others will heal with a very light tint. This will vary on an individual basis. Clients with sun damage, scar tissue (from injury or fever blisters) and clients with implants may not have strong results. hyperpigmentation can happen on any lip client without warning. If you have a history of fever blisters or cold sores, we advise that you to go to the doctor for anti-viral medication prior to your lip procedure to help avoid an outbreak. Follow all before and after instructions for you lip procedure. Please wait at least 30 days after your first session to schedule a touch up. Lips heal in three stages: Too dark - Too light - Just right. This takes one month to happen. Please avoid any friction to lip area while healing.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS. Everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle, the initial 10 day care, and long term care of your brow tattoo.

  • Avoid abrasive materials such as rough towels.

  • During the healing process avoid facial treatments such as eyelash tinting, perming, and lifting.

  • DO NOT USE oily makeup remover, baby oil, mineral oil, or heavy creams, especially glycolic around the eyes.

  • Avoid Makeup for 5 days. If you apply makeup, you do so at your own risk.

Your skin will be temporarily sensitized after the treatment, and you should adhere to the following instructions for the next 10 days. This will help avoid infection and allow time for the skin to recover.

If you apply makeup during the next 5 days following your treatment, you do so entirely at your own risk.

Healing can take up to 10 days and it is perfectly normal for small scabbing to appear on the treated area. These flakes need to fall off naturally. DO NOT PICK.

After the treatment, it is fading is normal during the first 2 weeks. There may be patchy sections while the skin is healing. The pigment will return to the surface in about 30 days. The outcome will be subtle. This IS NOT a bold eyeliner tattoo it is an eyelash enhancement. Lash Enhancement is a soft shadowed enhancement to your lash line to create the illusion of fuller lashes. This will not replace the use of eyeliner but instead give you a natural eye enhancement.

Instructions

  • For 10 days following the tattoo procedure, wash the site gently and apply ointment 2 times per day.

  • With eyes closed wash the site gently with gentle soap and warm water using your hands only. (baby shampoo is ideal)

  • Blot the area dry. Do not rub with a towel.

  • With eyes closed massage ointment gently for 10 seconds and then gently blot off the excess ointment. Be careful to not get any ointment in the eyes as it will burn.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS. Everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle, the initial 10 day care, and long term care of your brow tattoo.

The freckle tattoo healing process is not as intensive as with some other permanent makeup services. It does entail some minor immediate side-effects, and a few days of scabbing, and then flaking.

Here’s an overview of the freckle tattoo healing process:

  • Day 1 – Redness, minor swelling, irritation

  • Day 2 – Redness, swelling and irritation should have subsided. Scabbing starts.

  • Days 3-5 – A thin scabby film is formed over the freckles. The area might feel dry or start itching.

  • Days 5-10 – When the skin underneath heals, the scabby film will start to flake off.

  • Days 10-14 – Flaking should end. Once it does, you can discontinue the aftercare routine.
